4 Tips to ROCK Unwashed Hair Without Anyone Noticing

Who in the world has time to fix their hair, from scratch every. single. day. IDK about you but especially since COVID has been a thing, its been harder to muster up the energy for a fresh do on the reg. AND ... that's okay.  We personally like the feeling of day 2 or 3 hair: more texture, a little more hold, ya know? Sometimes, that fresh hair is hard to work with!
If you agree (or are curious but not quite ready to agree yet) and have about 10 minutes to spare in the morning, then you're in luck. Check out these tips below to refresh your hair and rock that day 2, 3 or 7 style like it is a fresh from the salon.

1. Chill On The Shampooing

The more you wash your hair, the more sebum, or oil, your scalp produces to compensate for the shampoo stripping your hair of its natural oils. Trust your hair and scalp, it biologically knows best. Once your hair settles into a more natural oil-producing cycle, you'll find going a day or two between shampoos becomes easy-peasy. And, we've made it easy for you. HERE are our tips on how to gradually work up to less washing days to protect your hair color + prevent hair breakage and increase overall hair + scalp health! Who doesn't want that?

2. Apply Dry Shampoo Right After Styling

Another hot take is to apply dry shampoo right after styling. I know, I know, it sounds counter intuitive, right? Why apply another shampoo right after shampooing in the shower, blowdrying, and styling? But, think about it like this ... If you have the style you want, and you apply dry shampoo to your roots you are proactively protecting your style from oil build-up and free radicals! This allows the product to work at the root system before too much oil develops giving you a head-start on your hair maintenance.

Depending on your hair type, this might even mean that you can skip days between dry shampoo and shampooing altogether! Give it a try and see how it changes your results.

3. Cool Your Scalp Off After a Big Workout

Love working out but have a hard time maintaining your hair after a sweat sesh? Try cooling your scalp down immediately after by popping on a shower cap and running cool water over your head or crack up the cold on your blowdryer for a quick shot of cool on your neck and roots to stop the sweating and prep your hair for dry shampoo application.

Also, using a boar bristle brush will help. Boar bristles help to evenly distribute the oils in your hair from your roots to the ends, conditioning the lower portion of your hair with your hair's natural oils!

4. Massage In Dry Shampoo, THEN Brush it Through

After applying your dry shampoo, use the tips of your fingers to massage it in. Take it as a moment of self-care, relax and pretend you're at the salon getting one of those head massages from your favorite stylist. This step is essential to distribute the dry shampoo throughout your roots evenly. For best results, let that sit for a few minutes while you do other self-care things.

Then, brush your strands thoroughly and continue styling. + you can enjoy the extra grip you get from the dry shampoo application for better volume and better curls.
